EVERTON WON’T SIGN AARONS – JOURNALIST

Everton fans have been dealt a huge blow after reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Merseyside giants have no chance of signing Norwich City right-back Max Aarons who has been linked with a move to the club for several transfer windows.

Transfer guru Romano said the Toffees won’t sign Aarons this summer in a reply to the question asked by one of his followers on Twitter. According to him, English junior international Aarons won’t be leaving Norwich City for Goodison Park this summer.

The new development is a big blow to Everton fans who were hoping that Aarons will follow in the footsteps of Ben Godfrey by leaving the Canaries for Everton. The Merseyside giants signed utility defender Godfrey from Norwich City shortly after their relegation from the top flight last summer in a £25m deal and the young English player has become an important player for his new team.

The right-back position proved to be a problematic one for Everton and their manager Carlo Ancelotti during the just concluded season mainly due to the fitness problems of first choice and club skipper Seamus Coleman. Republic of Ireland international Coleman is no longer at the peak of his powers partly due to injuries and a long-term replacement for him is a priority for the Toffees this summer.

Norwich City defender Aarons was a regular for the Canaries when they suffered relegation at the end of last season alongside Godfrey but he stayed at the club despite the interest from elsewhere in Europe and helped Norwich City return to the Premier League after one season in the Championship. Apart from Everton, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with a move for the Norwich City player.
