Watford were beaten 1-0 at Luton Town on Saturday, while the duo of Brentford and Swansea City could only manage a draw in their respective English Championship matches.

The Canaries were able to seal promotion to the English top flight. The dropped points from Welsh team Swansea City in third place and London club Brentford in fourth spot ensured that Norwich City had an unassailable lead over those two teams without kicking a ball. To this effect, the Canaries were able to pick one of the two automatic slots for Premier League football next season. They still have a lot of work to do to finish as champions in the division.

Norwich City have reaped the rewards of persevering with manager Daniel Farke who was in charge when the club suffered relegation from the Premier League after one season. The German tactician has been able to mastermind their return to the same division at the first time of asking.

The Canaries also benefited from not selling their players when they were demoted from the Premier League last summer. Key players like Teemu Pukki, Todd Cantwell, Emiliano Buendia and Max Aarons stayed to help take the team back into the Premier League.

Norwich City have lost the two games played since their promotion was confirmed and they will have to improve to prevent second-placed Watford from usurping them in the race for the English Championship title. They have a five-point lead over the Hornets with three matches left after the two teams met on Tuesday night. Watford ran out 1-0 winners awag from home at the expense of the Canaries.
