BIG MATCH

The manager of Norwich City, Chris Hughton, has admitted that the upcoming match against Aston Villa is a big one and his players will have to show improvements in that game if they don’t want to be relegated from the Premier League.
With three matches to go, Norwich City is still not completely safe from relegation. They currently have 38 points in 35 matches.

Norwich City’s performance in the first half of this season was quite remarkable. But, this year, they have managed to win just two matches in the Premier League.

Norwich City’s recent performances have been dreadful. In their last 8 games, they have won only 1. They have lost 4, while, in the remaining 3, they have shared points.

The Canaries need to earn as many points as possible from the remaining three games. That’s what Chris Hughton had to say when he came in the press conference ahead of the match against Aston Villa.

When asked what will be the strategy of the team in the remaining games, Hughton said, “The strategy is pretty simple. We need to try and win every game. Only then, we are going to be safe.”

“Things are very tight at the moment. The teams towards the bottom are pretty close in terms of points. So, it’s important for us to secure as many points as possible from the rest three games.”

When these two teams had faced each other last time, Aston Villa had thrashed Norwich City by 4-1. That was a capital one Cup quarter final match.

When asked if that defeat will be in the minds of his players when they take on Aston Villa again tomorrow, Hughton said, “That match is history. We didn’t play that well that day and got defeated. I have told the guys not to think about revenge and all that stuff. That will put unnecessary pressure on them. We need to just go out there and play with free mind.”
