HUGHTON DELIGHTED

The Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has said that he is extremely delighted with the effort and the performance of his players in the recent draw with Southampton.

After keeping a lot of clean sheets in recent matches, Norwich City managed a 1-1 draw with the Premier league strugglers Southampton. Despite being in the relegation zone, Southampton have managed to win the last two matches and were coming into this encounter on the back of good confidence. Considering the situations, the Norwich manager Hughton said that he could not be more satisfied with his players and their performance.

This draw means that Norwich are currently unbeaten since suffering the 4-1 defeat at the hands of Chelsea back in October. This is extremely impressive considering that they have played teams like Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester United during this period. This extremely good run of form has also seen the team inch closer to the top half of the table. They have 16 points from the 14 matches they have played this season, while they are just one place below Liverpool in the table. The club will be having a number of fixtures that seem relatively easy on paper, which will give Hughton even more confidence and belief that Norwich can avoid relegation this season.

“The players are doing something right. When you look at the latter part of the game and we’re still attacking, still pushing forward trying to get the win, it shows the character. I’ve got a squad, particularly a bench, that is desperate to play. We have real competition for places and, at the moment, that is the key. Points in this division are very tough to get. At the moment, we are getting them,” said Hughton after the match. Norwich will play struggling Sunderland this weekend.
