CITY SPEND BIG

Norwich City have been one of the big spenders in the Premier league this season. They have brought in several names over the course of the transfer window, as manager Chris Hughton finally attempts to move away from the relegation zone and establish the club in the Premier league.

However, the presence of new names has not translated into goals on the pitch. Norwich have been so far put in the pre-season matches, and after their latest defeat to Portland Timbers in a friendly match, manager Chris Hughton has said that the club should improve.
Norwich were defeated 1-0 in the friendly match, as they created a little chances over the course of 90 min.

Attacking defender Martin Olsson has been one of the several new names to come to Carrow Road. The club also recently agreed a deal with Celtic for the transfer of striker Gary Hooper. Hooper has been one of the best strikers in Scotland over the last three years, and Hughton will be hoping that his presence will finally help them get over the crisis in front of goal.

Much of the goalscoring crisis has been linked with the departure of Grant, who was a regular goalscorer. He has signed for Wigan for £ 2 million.

“I think there is always concerns in every game geared towards the results. We have given away two poor goals in the last two games. You always hold your hand up if you concede a goal that shows some great creativity from the opposition but we in effect have gifted two goals in the last two games. So that is a concern along with the lack of goals but that is normal at this stage of the season,” said the manager, whose team will face Everton on the opening day of the season.
