NORWICH WILL BUY

Norwich City could be set for a dip in the transfer market in order to overcome the injury troubles at the club according to the manager Chris Hughton.

The former Birmingham and Newcastle manager has recently overseen an incredible run of form at the club, which has helped them allay any relegation fears for the season. They are in fact close to the top half of the table, which is an incredible achievement, but the huge number of injury problems is threatening to derail the season. As a result, Hughton has revealed that he may consider buying some players during the January transfer window in order to bolster their squad.

Hughton is especially facing a lot of injury problems in the attacking areas of the pitch, with the likes of Grant Holt missing a number of matches in recent weeks. Harry Kane is a possible replacement for Grant Holt, but Hughton has revealed that he should not be depending on one striker on loan. Kane is currently on loan from Tottenham till the end of the season. Hughton will be taking his men to Peterborough United during the weekend in order to take on Darren Ferguson’s men in the third round of the FA Cup. Hughton will be hoping that the FA Cup does not provide a distraction to the league campaign.

“Of course I’ve had a problem with Grant missing some games and Steve Morison also injured now. It’s an area that of course we have looked at, but the best way of doing business is very much behind the scenes. We’re working hard. There’s no doubt about that. You hope you can be successful, but it’s about making sure anything we do is right for this football club,” said Hughton, whose team have now lost the last four matches.
