Norwich City had already known their Premier League status by the time they faced Tottenham Hotspur at home on the final day of the season. Demotion to the English Championship had already been confirmed long before the Spurs game, but their final position on the league table had not been decided.

Either Watford or Norwich City could still finish last on the Premier League log ahead of the final day of the season with a solitary point separating the two teams. NORWICH LOSE FIVE SUCCESSIVE LEAGUE GAME

Premier League bottom team Norwich City are now on a losing run of five successive in the competition after their defeat at home to Chelsea on Thursday night. The Canaries lost 3-1 to their visitors to make it five defeats on the bounce in league terms and six defeats on the bounce in all competitions.

Norwich City are fighting to avoid demotion to the English Championship at the first time of asking and they have not been helped by the aforementioned poor run. Norwich City are one of several teams fighting for survival at the bottom of the Premier League and they secured promotion for this season by finishing as the champions of the Championship last season. PUKKI BAGS BEST PLAYER AWARD

Finland international star TeemuPukki has been named the Footballer of the Year at Norwich City. He was named the best player at Norwich City for this year by the Norwich City fans. Pukki has been the main man at Carrow Road this year and he has been responsible for the majority of the Norwich City goals scored in the Premier League this season.

Pukki scored 15 goals in his first 21 matches in the English Championship last season as he led Norwich City to the top of the table. A barren run for Pukki in front of goal at the start of this year ensured that Norwich City lost the Championship summit to West London club Brentford. Norwich City thereafter embarked on a 13-man unbeaten league run with Pukki netting 14 times in those games including his first Championship hattrick during the 7-0 win over Huddersfield Town. The unbeaten run came to an and thanks to theloss to Bournemouth. Norwich City sealed the Championship title with the 4-1 win over Reading two weeks after the defeat to Bournemouth.

Norwich City have a good chance of breaking the deadlock in terms of points when they take on fellow newly promoted team Watford in the Premier League this weekend.The Canaries are the only team without a single point in the Premier League ahead of the next set of games.

VILLA CLOSE TO SIGNING CANTWELL – REPORT

Aston Villa are reportedly closing in on a move for Norwich City attacking midfielder Todd Cantwell. This is according to the publication from the stables of Football Insider. It was revealed that Villa are on course to make the England u21 international their third signing of the season after Norwich City teammate Emiliano Buendia and former player Ashley Young.

Everton fans have been dealt a huge blow after reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Merseyside giants have no chance of signing Norwich City right-back Max Aarons who has been linked with a move to the club for several transfer windows.

FORMER ARSENAL AND NORWICH PLAYER SET TO JOIN JOHNSTONE

Charlie Gilmour, a former player of Arsenal and Norwich City is reportedly close to joining Scottish side St Johnstone after the club were rumored to have offered him a contract to move to Scotland. The Scottish Premiership club’s manager Callum Davidson is a keen admirer of the 21-year-old and has been eyeing the youngster for a couple of weeks now.

ARSENAL INTERESTED IN ROMA STRIKER

Arsenal are interested in AS Roma striker Patrik Schick. According to reports from Italian tabloid Corriere dello Sport, the Gunners have asked about Schick. Roma are ready for talks over a possible transfer but would want nothing less than €25 million.

Schick is on loan at Bundsliga side RB Leipzig in the second half of the season but they are not expected to trigger his release clause hence the negotiation with Emirates Stadium. He will return to Roma at the end of the season. The player has also revealed that he will talk to his representatives at the end of the season before he made his next decision about his future.
